One thing I’ve started to realize blatantly clearly is that the success of a business is inversely proportional to the number of beliefs you hold.
It was never about the tactics. The how to get rich quick schemes.
Why?
Because they all work.
You call them a scam because they didn’t work FOR YOU. Minor difference there.
Every single thing that you’ve pursued and failed at was never down to the lack of knowledge.
You already know this but knowledge can be found everywhere if you look hard enough.
Even a simple $150 course can teach you everything you need to build a business.
You know what isn’t emphasized enough?
How your mindset comes into this.
Your beliefs about how you view the world and what it takes for you to succeed.
You were a shy kid with no confidence growing up so now you believe that you’re not worthy of any material success aka you have imposter syndrome.
You wanted to fit in when you were younger. You wanted to be liked. You wanted to be cool.
So now everything you do, you do to please people. You charge low prices so that people will agree and like you. You’re scared of confrontation. As soon as the client isn’t happy, you avoid them instead of working through the problems.
You struggled in school and felt that you were working 10x harder than your peers only to achieve the same, average grades.
You translate that same work ethic to your business and work every second of every waking moment to build it up because that’s what you think it takes for you to make it.
So you work stupid hours, every day. And you still haven’t made it.
You beat yourself up and give yourself more work to do to make up for not doing enough work yesterday.
All the fun and joy of the things you do get sucked out of you because you can’t see the work as anything more than just…work.
You see how your beliefs dictate the way you operate?
Without knowing, you’re holding yourself back from greatness.
And the only way to solve it is a shit ton of self-awareness.
Understand who YOU are. What childhood trauma’s you’ve had to deal with. How you have been broken in some way.
And link that back to how you operate now.
You’ll find connections in behaviours you never knew were holding you back.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this as always.
See ya next week.

Every week, I share key lessons I've learned about building creator-led businesses from my own content marketing agency as well as lessons from the clients that I work with.
One of the most powerful mindset shifts I've learned recently is the ability to play long-term games when it comes to money/business. For example, when building an agency, the short term mindset would be to keep as much money as possible, whether that's doing everything yourself, or paying employees as little as possible. Let's say you're making $20k/month and have an 80% margin on it ($16k/mo profit). Now the short-term view would be "let me just keep on doing everything myself" or "hire a...
You came to X to build your personal brand because you saw so many others before you built their audience successfully and made good money from it. So you decide to go all in and build your brand too. Doesn’t look too hard right? You post and post and post…and nothing… 2 months go by and you get demotivated and give up. “Maybe this isn’t for me”. So you take a break and go back to working the 9-5 you hate or the college where you struggle to pay attention to in any class. Another month goes...
Over the past month, I've struggled massively to complete tasks and work efficiently. I thought that to do more, I had to work more. I've always had this mindset since I was a kid, having to work 10x harder than my peers to get the same grades. In a 9-5 working efficiently isn't so obvious because there's always a cut-off time. In entrepreneurship, the game is completely different. You need to work efficiently or you literally won't have time to do anything. Work-life balance is always...
