The start of your journey...

You came to X to build your personal brand because you saw so many others before you built their audience successfully and made good money from it. So you decide to go all in and build your brand too. Doesn’t look too hard right? You post and post and post…and nothing…

2 months go by and you get demotivated and give up. “Maybe this isn’t for me”. So you take a break and go back to working the 9-5 you hate or the college where you struggle to pay attention to in any class.

Another month goes by and you stumble across another guy who’s just “hit $10k/month with this simple strategy” and you get pissed off. “How is this guy making so much money and I’m not?”, “His content is crap and he doesn’t even have a website”. You use the envy to light a fire inside to get back on the path and keep consistency.

Along the way, you meet other like-minded people and you really click in the comments. You shoot them a DM to ask them how things are going on their end. After some DMs, you jump on a call. Boom. Instantly hit it off. It’s like you’re speaking to your subconscious mind. You’ve never met others with a dream so aligned with yours.

3 months later, you’ve built a network of weapons on your side, rooting for you. Your personal brand is growing fast. More people recognize you on the timeline. You even get a follow from a big creator. You feel like it’s finally going somewhere.

All is going well until you realize…you’re not making any money. How tf do you make money? You do some digging and you realize that there are 10 different skills you have to learn. It’s overwhelming, and you feel like giving up again. You struggle to find clients. No one replies to your DMs. You get the occasional “Fuck off” message. Bummer. Maybe building an online business wasn’t meant for you?

“Maybe it’s because the market is saturated, or maybe my offer isn’t good enough?” You tell yourself. So you start trying out crazy offers that you don’t even believe you can hit “10k followers in 90 days”, “20 leads a month”, “I guarantee you make $10k/month or I’ll work for free until I do”. Still crickets…

Then one day, one of the people in your network hits you up “Hey man I’ve got this friend who wants this service and he asked if I knew anyone so I thought I’d shoot him your way”. Wow. This could be it. Your first client.

You’re taught to “close on the call”, but you hate that approach. So you try to see how you can help and offer to settle the payment later. He agrees, but he'll only pay you if you can deliver the results. Not ideal, but it's still a great opportunity to prove to yourself that you're actually competent. You hope to use this client to build a great case study to then upsell, get a referral, or land future clients with.

Your journey finally begins.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this as always.

See ya next week.

One of the most powerful mindset shifts I've learned recently is the ability to play long-term games when it comes to money/business. For example, when building an agency, the short term mindset would be to keep as much money as possible, whether that's doing everything yourself, or paying employees as little as possible. Let's say you're making $20k/month and have an 80% margin on it ($16k/mo profit). Now the short-term view would be "let me just keep on doing everything myself" or "hire a...

One thing I’ve started to realize blatantly clearly is that the success of a business is inversely proportional to the number of beliefs you hold. It was never about the tactics. The how to get rich quick schemes. Why? Because they all work. You call them a scam because they didn’t work FOR YOU. Minor difference there. Every single thing that you’ve pursued and failed at was never down to the lack of knowledge. You already know this but knowledge can be found everywhere if you look hard...

Over the past month, I've struggled massively to complete tasks and work efficiently. I thought that to do more, I had to work more. I've always had this mindset since I was a kid, having to work 10x harder than my peers to get the same grades. In a 9-5 working efficiently isn't so obvious because there's always a cut-off time. In entrepreneurship, the game is completely different. You need to work efficiently or you literally won't have time to do anything. Work-life balance is always...
