Hope you guys are doing well, it’s been a while since I sat down to write a newsletter.
As I sit here on a Friday evening in a train packed with commuters leaving London after a long work week…
I thought I’d reflect on the last few weeks and share some things I’ve been thinking about.
I’ll be honest, I’ve fallen out of love with writing and creating content.
There’s so much conflicting information about how you should build your brand and what content you should post.
It made me so confused and demotivated to post anything new.
On one hand, Kieran Drew tells you to build an engaged audience and monetize once you’ve built a deep trust with them.
On the other hand, JK Molina tells you that Likes ain’t cash and you should position your whole brand around your offer, turning it into a lead gen machine…
The only reason I’ve been writing “authority” content is because I’m building my ghostwriting agency atm so I’ve focused on using my account for client acquisition.
But in truth, I prefer writing personal stories, sharing interesting things I learn, and talking about anything that interests me.
What I’ve realised is that content creation is not just a science or lead gen tool where you pump out content out for the algorithm to get engagement and leads.
It’s also an artistic form of creative expression.
That was a big reason I started this account in the first place.
I completely lost that artistic side recently and it led to a deterioration of content quality.
One thing I would say to all the creators out there hustling to grow their audience or make money is to not take everyone’s advice as gospel.
You should find your own style, voice, and way of building your business.
Don’t let the advice of other accounts (big or small) dictate the way you should create content or monetize.
Remember the reason you wanted to play this online game in the first place.
Most of you want to quit your job or drop out of college, and become totally free.
Free of time, money, and location….
If you dread every moment of what you’re doing, then you’re doing it wrong.
Yes there will be moments where you have to soldier on and do the things you don’t like but that should not be 100% of the time.
Having said that, one common theme with all the different approaches from these big creators is that…
ALL OF THEIR APPROACHES WORK.
Yes, everything works.
There are multiple ways to get to the same destination.
The lesson?
Do the one that excites you the most and cut out everyone else.
You DON’T HAVE TO listen to everyone.
Not even me.
Remember that.
So where am I going with my Twitter brand?
Absolutely nowhere.
I’m turning it into an open journal of my thoughts and sharing stories, experiences, and ideas that I want to explore deeply.
It’s gonna all be related to Digital Mastery - my journey from quitting my 9-5 and building an online business (exactly the same as my newsletter).
Yes I still want to acquire more clients for my agency but I want to do it in a way that I will actually enjoy.
So if you feel that my content has been a bit shit recently, hopefully it’ll start to pick back up over the coming weeks.
I want to put in the effort to earn your follow and attention because that’s extremely valuable to me.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this letter too.
Until next time.

Every week, I share key lessons I've learned about building creator-led businesses from my own content marketing agency as well as lessons from the clients that I work with.
One of the most powerful mindset shifts I've learned recently is the ability to play long-term games when it comes to money/business. For example, when building an agency, the short term mindset would be to keep as much money as possible, whether that's doing everything yourself, or paying employees as little as possible. Let's say you're making $20k/month and have an 80% margin on it ($16k/mo profit). Now the short-term view would be "let me just keep on doing everything myself" or "hire a...
One thing I’ve started to realize blatantly clearly is that the success of a business is inversely proportional to the number of beliefs you hold. It was never about the tactics. The how to get rich quick schemes. Why? Because they all work. You call them a scam because they didn’t work FOR YOU. Minor difference there. Every single thing that you’ve pursued and failed at was never down to the lack of knowledge. You already know this but knowledge can be found everywhere if you look hard...
You came to X to build your personal brand because you saw so many others before you built their audience successfully and made good money from it. So you decide to go all in and build your brand too. Doesn’t look too hard right? You post and post and post…and nothing… 2 months go by and you get demotivated and give up. “Maybe this isn’t for me”. So you take a break and go back to working the 9-5 you hate or the college where you struggle to pay attention to in any class. Another month goes...
